First and foremost, any kind of gun is very dangerous or lifesaver depending on the user who is holding the gun. Before someone will judge a person like me, please be an open mind. Because guns were invented to protect not to harm a person. It’s the user’s fault for using the gun wrongly. I understand shooting is fun because I can see from my husband and son playing shooting games, they do even have a Nerf guns. I made this article because out of my curiosity about “Why would you or others like the gun as a hobby”. But according to my research from the internet, the real guns are incredibly loud, especially the recoil can be frightening dangerous if you don’t know how to use the gun properly. Therefore, I would like to advise or recommend hiring an instructor if you don’t know using a real gun. Anyway, despite this, I found out shooting accurately it’s quite challenging, some find it very hard while others find it very easy. Whether indoor range or outdoor range, moving or non-moving target, and live or non-live target, if the target is very far away, like 15 to 500 yards, you need to learn and force your body to relax to be able to hold the gun and aim properly without getting yourself or someone to get hurt. Don’t forget the weight and recoil of the gun. The real gun is heavy, and some guns have a huge recoil, especially the shotgun.
Some people made guns as part of their hobby. I too would love to learn about firearms technology. I’ve always been curious about firing a gun someday and learn how to dismantle and clean the gun. But sadly to say I might not have an opportunity. Anyway, even though I don’t have an opportunity, others might have. Therefore, hopefully for those who might have a chance, please do carry one of my wishes of shooting a gun in firing range, dismantling, and cleaning a gun. Oh! Firearms have a necessity for cleaning, repairs, and modification. All sorts of things can be modified to make a firearm perform or look differently, turning something mundane and common into something uniquely yours. As my husband said about customization of guns, “imagine you are customizing guns like in the game of “Metal Gear V” or other games that has gun customization, customizing guns will change the accuracy, scope range, fire power, recoil, reload speed, and overl all performance. You might as well customize the body, change color and/or in print your emblem”.
Self-defense too might be some reason why would you or others people will like the gun as a hobby, might be a less fun part of the hobby. But, there is a certain peace of mind that comes from knowing that, if needed, you can respond with lethal force to a threat against yourself or your family. I despise people that get all gung ho about self-defense, telling people with pride and excitement about how they would handle a home invasion or something. Because if the real threat does happen, firing a gun against the threat might be the life and death situation of any person within the space of firing range. You might accidentally hit the wrong person or kill someone. Sure it can be fun to think about yourself as the hero that saves the day, but in the reality is that few people know how they would respond to a threat against their life in a highly stressful and risky situation. Once the adrenaline hits, the logical parts of your brain shut off. You can’t think about what is your gonna say or do and your fine motor functions go out the window. Some people think firing a gun within the game is like firing a gun in real life. But the truth is… it’s very different because there are a lot to consider and a lot of variation might happen. Therefore, I strongly advise or recommend, if your planning to learn about guns and shoot a gun, first must search a gun instructor from your nearest local fire range, and rent a gun, then buy a gun later once you know how to use it. Also, learning CQC (close quarter combat) will become very handy than firing a gun to a live person. In addition, I found out some people like the hunting aspect. There are some country or places allow hunting animal. But has a limit on which animal can be hunted and how many. Hunting will teach you to be quiet, calm, act slow or swiftly, and especially be patient like fishing. It’s often cold and damp, but as soon as you see the target animal is in range of fire, the adrenaline skyrockets. Again, you have to force your body to be calm and remember to breathe slowly and deliberately, avoid getting too excited. You have to judge the distance, height, wind pressure, and aim accordingly. You will be needing to act swiftly, but not too quickly. Once you’re ready, you flick the safety off, place your finger on the trigger and try to control your breathing. Then, BANG! Your ears would be ringing if you don’t wear a headset to suppress the loud noise, then your franticly searching for confirmation of your shot while readying yourself for a follow-up shot should it be needed. It’s truly exhilarating. Especially when you miss the first shot, then analyze your next aim and shoot your next follow-up shot. I wish I was able to experience those. But those are just my imagination based on the story of other people from the internet.
To summarize, people do like to make guns as their hobby, because of the idea of learning and experiencing holding and firing a gun or for self-defense, some might want to shoot only a shooting target in shooting range, while others would want to hunt a live animal target.
